Officials mark construction completion at confined disposal facility, dredging start at Indiana Harbor Canal

On Oct. 29, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Rep. Peter Visclosky and officials from Indiana held a ribbon cutting ceremony to mark the construction completion at the confined disposal facility (CDF) and the start of dredging at Indiana Harbor and Canal. Corps of Engineers releases interim aquatic nuisance species report to Congress for the Great Lakes and Mississippi River Interbasin Study

Today, USACE released the GLMRIS 90-Day Interim Report, sent by the Secretary of the Army, Civil Works, to Congress, Oct. 4. This interim report outlines anticipated milestones, required resources and a plan for the completion of the GLMRIS Report, which will evaluate a range of options and technologies to prevent the transfer of aquatic nuisance species between the Great Lakes and Mississippi River basins by aquatic pathways, by December 2013, as required by current legislation.
