A Dredged Material Management Plan (DMMP) was approved in September 2020 that identified vertical expansion of the current facility as the lowest cost, environmentally acceptable alternative for managing dredged sediment for the next 20 years.
A contract was awarded in September 2022 to vertically expand the current confined disposal facility (CDF) to provide required capacity for the next 20 years of dredging. The expanded facility would confine a total of 1,030,000 cubic yards of sediment.
