Current Status

Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) funds will be used to complete sediment sampling and plans & specifications for dredging. Award of a construction contract is scheduled for January 2024.

Design is in progress. Dredging in the federal limits is tentatively scheduled to start in the summer of 2024

 

Project Description and Background

Serves as a shallow draft recreational harbor. Project depth is 8 feet throughout. Approximately 3,700 feet of maintained federal channel.

Maintenance dredging of approximately 9,000 to 13,000 cubic yards is required on a 5- to 7-year cycle. The harbor was last dredged in 2002. Maintenance dredging is currently required.
