Indiana Regional General Permit Introduction

The Army Corps of Engineers, Chicago District, is transitioning from the Indiana Regional General Permit 001 (RGP) to the Nationwide Permit (NWP) Program to authorize the discharges of dredged and fill material into jurisdictional waters of the United States.
We encourage applicants to apply for an active 2021 Nationwide Permit, or 2017 Nationwide Permit currently in effect in the Indiana Section of the Chicago District. A complete list of active NWPs may be found here.

For activities not covered under the active NWP, an applicant may apply for an Indiana Regional General Permit as long as the activity 1) is covered by, and meets the conditions of the RGP, and 2) the activity meets the conditions of the Indiana Department of Environmental Management’s 401 Water Quality Certification (IDEM).
