Simple Applications Checklist

Simple projects include most single family related projects such as: maintenance to current bank stabilization methods, bank stabilization including seawalls, and piers. Please see the Regional General Permit for more information and guidelines. Project managers may ask for additional information, but in general for these types of small projects we need a few key items.

    1. A completed, signed, and dated Department of the Army Application form.

    2. As part of the application, we need a location map where you want to do the work. We need a map good enough to be able to drive there and find it easily. A map from any of the online map services is fine as long as your address is on the map. A couple of sites where you can get those maps for free are Mapquest, Yahoo Maps, Bing Maps, or Google Maps.

    3. We also need a drawing of what you want to do. The best drawing is done on copy of your plat of survey with the project location drawn and explained right on the plat. Length, width, type of materials and similar information should be placed right on the drawing. If you are drawing the plans for the property yourself, please try to draw as close to scale as possible.

    4. Photos of your property where you want to do the work including any wetlands or other water areas. The photos should be marked with your property boundary line if your work will be near your property boundary. This is important for us to see if you might be impacting or connecting to something on your neighbor's property. Be sure you write the date on the photo and indicate enough directions (north, south, east and west) for us to be able to figure out your drawings. When submitting photos please provide a description of the what is in the photo, where on the property the photo was taken and what direction it is facing.
