Appraisal Documentation
This website contains all analytical documents prepared for the
Evanston Marina Initial Appraisal, which was commissioned by the City of
Evanston in 2003, and completed in April, 2004.
All referenced documents are in
PDF format, and easily be inspected on-line or downloaded and printed if
desired. The documents are as follows:
- Survey of Demand, Marina Slips
includes all survey research methodology, the survey questionnaire,
responses to each question, commentary and conclusions. The estimated
demand for a facility in Evanston was based upon this survey.
- Attitudinal / Perceptions Survey of Evanston
Residents includes all survey research
methodology, the survey questionnaire, responses to each question,
commentary and conclusions.
- Preliminary Appraisal Report
is a top-line summary of all issues and concerns identified as priority
items for consideration by the City of Evanston. It is similar to an
executive summary in scope and depth.
- Traffic Impact Analysis and Evaluation
is a quantitative study undertaken by Northwestern University to identify
the traffic impacts associated with the increased level of traffic
associated with marina use.
- Investigation of Selected Environmental Issues
is a survey of literature and programs from throughout the United States
that are topical insofar as environmental impacts of marinas and boaters
are concerned.
- PowerPoint Presentation to City of Evanston, April
22 provides a top-line summary of findings,
conclusions and recommendations from the Chicago District Corps of
Engineers to its client, the City of Evanston.
