President’s FY22 budget for USACE released, includes studies for Chicago Shoreline and Coastal Resiliency
Repairs to the damaged Chicago Shoreline at Morgan Shoal are seen here March 17, 2021. Under the President’s Budget for Fiscal Year 2022 the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Chicago District will receive $500,000 for the Chicago Shoreline General Reevaluation Report, which will determine if a new federal shoreline project is justified by reevaluating portions of the shoreline. For the region, USACE will receive an additional $500,000 for the Great Lakes Coastal Resiliency Study to identify vulnerable coastal areas and recommend actions to adapt to future hydrologic uncertainty.
