Officials to mark start of East Chicago water main replacement project

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Rep. Pete Visclosky (IN-1), and East Chicago Mayor Anthony Copeland will hold a groundbreaking ceremony to mark the start of a water main replacement project in the City of East Chicago:

WHEN:       Monday, April 15, 2019

WHERE:    Veterans Park, corner of 145th & Indianapolis Blvd., East Chicago, Ind.

TIME:         2:30 p.m.

The completed project will include replacing the existing water main located in East Chicago, Indiana, along Indianapolis Boulevard between Columbus Drive and 151st Street. The existing water main is undersized and beyond its useful life, and will be replaced primarily with 12-inch water mains. This project is part of the Calumet Region Environmental Infrastructure Act, and has been allocated $1,595,000 of federal funding for fiscal year 2018.
