CHICAGO — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Chicago District Headquarters will move to a new location at the Bank of America Building, effective approximately July 15, 2013.
The Chicago District, with over 200 employees, has called the Chicago West Loop’s River Center home for the last 24 years. As part of an open and competitive process managed by the General Services Administration, the Chicago District has a new lease for office space in the Bank of America Building at 231 S. LaSalle Street. The move will take place the week of July 15, 2013. Phone and e-mail contacts will not change. Only the district headquarters is moving; the locations of project and area offices (Northern Area Office, Calumet Area Office and McCook) will remain the same.
District leadership has worked closely with employees and contractors to ensure a smooth transition and to build environmentally friendly and sustainable features into the new office space that is Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEEDS) certified.
“Sustainability is not only part of the Corps' decision processes, but is also part of our culture,” said USACE, Chicago District Commander Col. Frederic A. Drummond Jr. “We strived to make the new work space efficient, functional and green.”
Due to building access and security procedures, please contact the district beforehand to make any necessary visiting arrangements.
