The Corps’ Chicago District is looking for contractors for environmental restoration services for the Little Calumet River wetland mitigation project at Hobart Marsh. This new opportunity for Small Businesses has been posted on the www.FedBizOps.gov website (solicitation number W912P6-16-R-0034), with bids due on or about August 22, 2016.
The project involves restoring over 340 acres via native seeding and planting, eradicating woody and herbaceous invasive species and aggressive natives by cutting, along with mowing and herbicide application and hand removal. Also, prescribed burns will occur, and monitoring and maintenance of the plantings and the production of annual monitoring reports are required. Earthwork will be involved, to include the construction of three parking lots, the disablement of agricultural field drainage tiles, and the repair of eleven erosion gullies. Also, fencing and signs will be installed on nearly all tract perimeters.
Competition for this acquisition is a 100 percent set-aside for Small Business Concerns. The NAICS code is 237990, with a Small Business Size Standard of $36.5M. The magnitude of cost for construction is estimated at $5M to $10M.
The Request for Proposal (RFP) Package will be downloadable from the internet only. Project specification files will be PDF files and will be viewed, navigated, or printed using Adobe Acrobat Reader. Interested offerors will be able to download the RFP package from www.fbo.gov. The RFP package is available on FBO now, with bids due on or about August 22, 2016.
