Cook County Environmental Infrastructure

This project provides technical planning, design and construction assistance to non-federal interests who have environmental infrastructure needs in Cook County, Illinois. These needs may be related, but not limited, to development and protection of water supply and waste water systems, combined sewer overflows, and remediation of adverse water quality impacts and storm water impacts to waste water systems.  Work completed under this authorization includes construction for LaGrange, Calumet Park schools, Brookfield Zoo, feasibility and construction for Flossmoor, and construction for LaGrange Park, Olympia Fields, Village of Hazel Crest, Village of Glenview, Village of Country Club Hills, Village of Oak Lawn, and Richton Park. Construction was recently awarded for sewer improvements in Oak Lawn. Pending projects identified as applicable to this authorization include Country Club Hills, Countryside, Glenview, Riverdale, Berwyn, Westchester, Elmhurst, Hinsdale, and Midlothian.

Available funds will be used to close out the Village of Crestwood watermain replacement, Calumet City Pump Station upgrade, Village of Matteson Watermain Upgrade, Village of Richton Park Sewer Improvement Project, and Village of Lemont Watermain Upgrade. In addition we will initiate construction for the Village of Flossmoor Sewer Improvement Project, and the Village of Elmwood Park Watermain Replacement project.
