Kenosha Harbor Maintenance Dredging was advertised on Aug. 20, 2020. The plans include a base option to remove 20,000 cubic yards of sand from the federal channel, along with several options that could bring the total removed to 45,000 cubic yards. The material will be hydraulically placed at Kenosha Dunes, approximately 2 miles south of the harbor. This is an area that has seen severe erosion during the high lake levels. This erosion is endangering a rare habitat that this material will help protect. Dredging is anticipated in spring 2021.
