Post-construction monitoring by the non-federal sponsor will continue through 2025.

Project Description and Background

The project restored 4 acres of ravine, which includes defragmenting the stream to facilitate use by Lake Michigan fishes for spring spawning and juvenile nursery habitat.

Project benefits include stabilized coastal communities; restored historical native plant communities along Lake Michigan; improved nearshore fish habitat and migratory and resident bird habitat; and increased connectivity through removal of obstructions and establishment of passages to enhance communities of aquatic species, especially fish
