Big Suamico River, Wisconsin flows easterly into Green Bay, an arm of Lake Michigan. The mouth of the river is about 8 miles north of Green Bay Harbor, and about 44 miles southwesterly from Menominee Harbor, MI and WI. The project was authorized by the River and Harbor Act of 1937 and provides for an entrance channel 8 feet deep extending from that depth in Green Bay to 1,800 feet above the river mouth, with widths of 100 feet in the bay and 60 feet in the river. The total length of the channel is about 3,700 feet. The harbor services primarily recreational navigation interests.
