Simple Application Checklist

We are now accepting all applications electronically.   Please send your application to  Do not send applications directly to project managers. Electronic submittals still require a signature.  Attachments must be less than 10 MB.  For attachments larger than 10 MB and less than 8 GB, please contact us for an access code and an upload link.

Simple projects include most single-family related projects such as bank stabilization, docks, and piers. Please see the corresponding permit for more information on the permit you are applying for. Project managers may ask for additional information beyond what is listed in the checklist below to meet the requirements of the appropriate permit.

This checklist may be helpful for the following types of permits:

Simple Application Checklist

  1. A completed, signed, and dated application form. Please describe which permit for which you are applying.

  2. A location map where the proposed work would be conducted, including the address and major crossroads for reference.  You may use a site like Google Maps, or your local County map service (see menu on lower left)

  3. An engineering plan or drawing of the proposed work.  Plans can be drawn on a copy of your plat of survey and should include length, width, and type of materials to be used. While hand drawn plans are acceptable, please try to draw as close to scale as possible.  Additionally, a cross-section of seawall work showing the amount of backfill and material used to construct the wall may be required.

  4. Photos of your property where work will be conducted, including wetlands and waters. If applicable, photos should be marked with the property boundary line to ensure the project is not impacting a neighboring property. When submitting photos please provide a description of the photo, and what direction the photo was taken (north, south, east, west).
